Loss in Service
The Hope was lost on 25 January 2247 during the first deployment of the Hope Destroyers crew (so-named following this disastrous deployment) during a classified operation. There were no casualties, aided by the testing of emergency evacuation teleportation pods which have now been approved for fleet-wide deployment.
The mission objectives and the identity of the opposing force are sealed under Federation Code §47.9.
No memorial has been authorised. The name Hope has not been retired, and Fleet Command has issued no statement on whether it will be reassigned.
