Responsibilities
The Fleet Commander holds supreme authority over all United Federated Navy operations, personnel, and strategic direction. The Admiral serves as the singular point of command across both the UFN rank structure and all External Divisions.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Fleet Command - ultimate operational authority over all UFN vessels, squadrons, and deployments across the Frontier and home space
- Admiralty Board Leadership - presiding over the board alongside the Vice Admiral and Rear Admirals, setting strategic direction and reviewing operational readiness
- Divisional Oversight - receiving reports from and providing direction to the leaders of all External Divisions, including the Intelligence Directorate, Marine Corps, Engineering Corps, Medical Corps, Logistics Command, Judge Advocate Division, and Communications Division
- Personnel Authority - final approval on all flag-level appointments, promotions to Commodore and above, and matters of conduct at senior level
- Civilian and Government Liaison - representing the UFN before Earth's governing bodies and allied institutions, and ensuring transparency of mission to the public
- Strategic Doctrine - shaping the long-term operational and ethical framework under which the Fleet operates

Responsibilities
The Fleet Chief Gunnery Officer holds command authority over all weapons systems, combat readiness, and offensive capability across the United Federated Navy. Commodore Skye serves as the Admiral's primary advisor on matters of engagement, firepower, and tactical response.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Weapons Systems Command - operational authority over all UFN offensive and defensive armaments, from shipboard turrets to fleet-scale strike coordination
- Combat Readiness - ensuring every vessel in the Fleet meets and maintains gunnery standards at all times, whether in active deployment or standing patrol
- Tactical Advisory - providing direct counsel to the Admiral and Admiralty Board on engagement strategy, threat assessment, and rules of engagement
- Gunnery Personnel - oversight of all weapons officers across the Fleet, including training, certification, and combat performance review
- Engagement Authorisation - coordinating with Fleet Command on the authorisation and execution of offensive action in the field
- Threat Response Planning - leading the development of contingency fire plans for known and emerging threats across the Frontier

The Chief Flight Commander of the Frontier Operations Command Division holds command authority over all flight operations, pilot readiness, and vessel movement coordination across the United Federated Navy. Captain Smith-Patel leads Frontier Operations Command, serving as the Fleet's foremost authority on flight control, navigation strategy, and operational logistics in the field.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Flight Operations Command - overall authority over all UFN flight crews, pilots, and vessel movement across active deployments and standing patrols
- Frontier Operations Leadership - directing the strategic and day-to-day operations of Frontier Operations Command, the Fleet's primary forward-facing operational arm
- Flight Controller Certification - overseeing the certification programme that qualifies officers for command at Captain level and above, one of the Fleet's most demanding professional standards
- Operational Coordination - working in close coordination with the Fleet Chief Gunnery Officer and Admiralty Board to synchronise movement, engagement, and withdrawal across fleet actions
- Pilot Readiness - ensuring all flight personnel meet and sustain the UFN's exacting standards for active deployment
- Navigation Doctrine - shaping the procedures and protocols that govern how UFN vessels move, respond, and operate across known and unknown space
