Debrief

Following a credible and immediate threat to life, the UFN UFN Vanguard was diverted to Sector 232 to assist in finding this threat, With their Flight Controller aboard UFN Stalwart, the crew were given a list of nearby stations and tasked to find out what they could...

Moments later, Stalwart was destroyed.

The crew were then contacted by an unidentified hostile actor calling themselves The Evaluator, who claimed to have hidden nuclear devices aboard UFN stations in the sector. Through a sequence of riddles, station downloads, recovered intelligence files, and device reports, the crew worked to identify the correct stations, recover disarm codes, and uncover the identity of the attacker.

The first evaluation led the crew to UFN Echo, where the first hidden device and intelligence files were recovered. However, despite efforts, UFN Echo was lost to The Evaluator’s device, with Fleet Command recording severe casualties and infrastructure loss.

The second evaluation directed the crew to UFN Horizon, revealing more of The Evaluator’s history and methods. UFN Horizon survived the attack, and its recovered files helped narrow the investigation.

The final evaluation pointed to UFN Nowhere, where the last device report completed the chain of evidence. UFN Nowhere was successfully saved, preventing the final hidden device from completing The Evaluator’s plan.

The investigation revealed that The Evaluator was Adrian Vale, a former UFN Scientific Corps officer dismissed after repeated disputes over aptitude testing, competence assessments, and the authority of senior Federation personnel.

Vale’s trail ultimately led to UFN Citadel, his last known location.

With the station contained and escape routes cut off, Adrian Vale surrendered to UFN forces. He was taken into custody by the UFN Prison Corps and transferred under heavy escort for interrogation, trial, and full assessment of his remaining devices, accomplices, and contingency plans. Fleet Command has ordered a sector-wide audit of Scientific Corps dismissal cases and all remaining station security protocols.

The crew of the UFN Vanguard is thanked for their assistance with this very difficult and delicate matter. All records of this mission are classified under statue 8 of the UFN Intelligence Regulations.
