Debrief

The crew of UFN Resolute was assigned to observe GST Hearthside Habitat after UFN supply drones were seen servicing the Ghost settlement. During the approach, the crew received a sealed dispatch from Cdre Kinsey, who warned that UFNI was pursuing him and urged them to speak with Grifter.

At Hearthside, Grifter reported that UFNI ships had been taking food, medicine and other essential supplies from Ghost civilians for months. His tracker led the crew through three carrier-signal echoes, each guarded by UFNI patrols, to a concealed position inside a nebula.

With the vessel still cloaked, the crew followed Grifter’s proposed transfer method: they activated Resolute’s native self-destruct and were transported aboard UFNI Anderson. Records on the empty ship identified Operation Fallow, a covert plan to deprive Ghost settlements of essential supplies and turn their civilian populations against Ghost leadership. The records named Commodore Mayfield, commanding officer of UFNI Janus, and included a legal review finding the operation unlawful under UFN rules. UFNI interceptors attacked Anderson shortly after the transfer.

The records identified GST Haven Seven Habitat as the next target. The crew proceeded there as Janus and its escort force prepared to raid the settlement. At this point, the crew had a choice - side with Intelligence or defend the Ghosts from the UFNI attack...

Having deemed the action illegal and immoral, the crew decided to stand up for the civilian Ghost installation. They turned against the UFNI assault and defended Haven Seven. The planned seizure was stopped, preserving the habitat’s food and medical stores. Janus withdrew, but the evidence aboard Anderson remained in the crew’s hands.

UFN Command will investigate Commodore Mayfield, Operation Fallow and everyone involved in the raids. Kinsey’s arrest warrant is being reviewed in light of his whistleblowing and the evidence the crew recovered. The UFN Diplomatic Corps will reach out to Grifter to negotiate a temporary ceasefire, allowing emergency food, medicine and essential equipment to reach civilian installations across the sector.

Haven Seven was spared. The investigation must now account for the settlements that were not.

UFN Command orders the crew to hand over Anderson’s records to investigators and stand down.
