Debrief
The crew deployed directly onto the UFN Scotsman after its previous crew evacuated by automatic teleport. On arrival, UFN Scotsman was dead in the water: hull damaged, shields down, key systems degraded, and only three control crystals still installed.
Engineering restored limited function by assigning the remaining crystals to critical systems while repair teams worked through the damage. With only three crystals available, every system choice mattered. Bringing one system online often meant taking another offline.
Relay used the experimental Crystal Sniffer to track missing crystal sources, first leading the crew toward ITG Waymarket.
The crew earned ITG’s trust in combat, defending Waymarket during the Ghost attack and receiving the crystals in recognition of that support. This brought the total of crystals to 5 - meaning more stations could now be used by the engineering dept.
While following the next crystal ping through the Relay system, the crew received a call from ALF, who was hiding in a nearby nebula and needed assistance. The crew answered the distress call and defended TSN Aldrin under fire; in return, ALF transferred an additional control crystal.
More crystals were tracked to a nearby UMBRA base - unfortunately, the crew decided to attempt a deception involving the launching of a probe toward UMBRA forces and spooked them into running away. As a result, the station was abandoned and the crew were unable to obtain any control crystals from Umbra.
With six crystals recovered, UFN Scotsman entered the assault still badly short of full authority. The fight against GST Enclave demanded careful system juggling and nerve from every station, but the crew pushed through with grit and precision. They had not recovered enough crystals to make the battle fair, but they won it anyway.
UFN Intelligence was pleased to recover the prototype systems, though UFN Scotsman docked with Comms Relay heavily damaged, exhausted, and still far from fully operational.
Congratulations crew - you have prevented the Ghosts from obtaining a KEY UFN asset. Shore leave is approved for all crew members on this deployment.
