Negotiations broke down and Umbra forces engaged, resulting in a combat scenario around the artifact. Under pressure, Umbra units disengaged and withdrew. Shortly after, Ghost pirate forces entered the area. The timing suggests a possible connection to Umbra activity, though this remains unconfirmed. With the area contested, UFN Command ordered activation of the artifact. An EMP strike was deployed. The artifact responded by generating a wormhole, transporting UFN forces to an unknown region of space.

On arrival, UFN forces encountered a Light-aligned defence platform, The Aegis, offline and under attack by Darkness forces. Hostiles were eliminated, stabilising the immediate area. The Aegis established direct contact, confirming it could provide limited support, including the ability to call in Light reinforcements. Long-range scans confirmed five waves of Darkness forces inbound to the Aegis position.

The Aegis successfully held against sustained Darkness assault following your intervention. Defensive systems remained operational and the platform is considered secure. Following the battle, The Light established direct contact. They now recognise your forces as equals in this conflict and have committed to providing support where possible. However, they must first locate and rally their scattered brethren across the sector before full coordination can be achieved.

During the mission, Relay officer Ensign BEZOK was given the option of requesting backup from The Light in support of their station. Under the guidance of Captain Ensign BEZOK, these reinforcements were deployed to support the UFN. It is clear The Light might be a formidable ally in our fight against The Darkness.
